| Bulgaria’s Hoodoos | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |||||||||||
This minute town of Melnik, at the foot of the Pirin, near the Greek border, apart from the local wine, boasts exemplary badlands scenery, which results from rainfall cutting through the loosely cemented sandstone and conglomerate. Some fine hoodoos, wearing erosion-resistant boulder caps, can be spotted in the vicinity of Rozhen Monastery. Last but not least, views of "badlands" provide a fantastic illustration of how mountain ridges, towers and valleys are moulded by erosion. Comments [ Post a Comment ]
