ridge connecting Mount Henkel and Apikuni Mountain [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
ridge connecting Mount Henkel and Apikuni Mountain
Looking northeast from the summit of Mount Henkel, one can view the ridge leading up to the red scree of Apikuni Mountain. The initial descent from Henkel gets a little interesting at times, but nothing worse than class 3 climbing is encountered if the correct route is taken. In my opinion, there were several safe ways down. The hike from Henkel to Apikuni is about a mile, and gains/loses approximately 1,000 feet in elevation.
