The picture is showing the real colors. No filter or photoshop...

The old fortress was built at the confluent of two important valleys: the south valley(continuing straight in the picture) leading to Bhutan, the east one (left on the picture) going to the Karo La and Lhasa.

Since the construction of an artificial lake in 1998, it has become an island...
