Bowman Lake is Glacier National Park's third largest lake, ranking only behind Lake McDonald and St. Mary Lake. I shot this photograph on the last day of a three day, 37.4 mile backpacking trip that took a group of friends and me from Kintla Lake to Upper Kintla Lake campground, then over Boulder Pass for a night at spectacular Hole-in-the-Wall, and finally out down the entire length of the Bowman Lake valley. It was a truly spectacular trip; Hole-in-the-Wall is regarded by many as one of the finest backcountry sites in all of Glacier National Park.
