While decending the scree and talus southeast slope of Mount Lamarck I got a nice view of Lamarck Col. The true col with the sign you enter Kings Canyon N.P. is in the last left (southeast)notch before the ridge goes up again.You have to cross the icefield on its left side to find some steep tracks leading up to the col.
