Flora of Katahdin [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Flora of Katahdin
A couple of pink flowers not far from the summit of Katahdin. As identified by nartreb, this flower is bog-laurel, or Kalmia polifolia. This was actually on the Baxter Peak Cut-Off Trail that comes just underneath the summit. There were numerous wild flowers strewn throughout the rock boulders and stunted trees along this trail. Views were existent on basically the entire length of this 0.9 mile trail.
