| SU CRABARGIU Cave | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Columns are formed when the stalactite and the stalagmite continue to build and grow. When the two join, they form a single pillar or column reaching from the floor to the ceiling.
The largest columns are typically aligned along ceiling joints where the greatest amount of water drips into the cave
Photo taken in SU CRABARGIU's Cave, Codula di Luna, Sardinia.
Here's a shot of what the wiew outside looks like
Note: Thanks to Silvia for posing still while the shutter stayed open / thanks Andre + Ginx that helped me out with the lights set. Caving Photography is either a challenge for the photographer or...a total pain in the a** for cavers who --most of the time-- just wanna go go go :-)

Hasn't voted | You must give it a try, so :) Canada is a big Country and I don't know where you live exactly but---- you might decide to contact a caving club near where you roam and ...go. I think It worths doing the experience at least once, anyway.
I've found this link on the www. don't know if it helps.
ciao and thanks for vote :)

Voted 10/10 | hey, thanks for the link. I live in Northern BC and there is a caving club. (my daughter used to belong). There is a cave not that far from where I live and hope to descend it sometime this year! Keep posting inspiring photos! | | Posted Jan 10, 2009 11:26 am |

Voted 10/10 | I believe you are an inspiration to many
people here on SP. For example, it takes a
lot of work (and patience) to take a picture
inside a dark cave.
It also takes a lot of work to film a
butterfly. Perhaps one of these days, I will
get over my "fear of butterflies," and take
a spectacular photo for Summitpost.
Awesome cave and photo, b. !!! | | Posted Jan 10, 2009 4:18 pm |

Hasn't voted | wow, thanks---what can I say---Thank you for very encouraging words Larry!!
Actually I feel kinda weird with the idea of "being patient + an inspiration to many people". It gives me that kind of ---scarry--- "holiness aura" that doesen't really fit with me ;-)
I thought you already did. Ain't your profile pic already displaying a spectacular "AZ Moth" ??? so unique. ;-D. LoL.
ha,Larry, You're fun. I love that.
grazie for your support desert man.

Voted 10/10 | I can't say that I've ever met you in person, but you're right. Hey, it's "okay"
to feel weird! It is okay.
"Feeling weird" is an intregal part of living. And, life itself is much to short!
