Pyroclastic flow down El Caliente's east side during an eruptive event. Jan 3rd 2009, 1349 UTC. These two videos are from people that climbed onto the erupting dome, the first during an eruption and the second of walking into the crater. Note that this is not recommended as can be seen here but you might get lucky.

Hasn't voted | Maybe around 45 mph (same as 20 m/s)? I based this off two shots from a similar event on another day. And yeah, that's the tip at the bottom, just the first rocks in the cascade. Obviously this is a pretty small and probably cold flow in comparison to those famed at larger eruptions such as St. Helens and Pinatubo but you still wouldn't want it to hit you in the face :) | | Posted May 16, 2009 11:19 pm |
