"The route contoured through unbelievably shady and complicated terrain with many exposed ledges. In fact, the entire ridge felt perfectly solid except its east flank, there were plenty of loose rocks around. We didn’t climb straight up the face but traversed along the ridgeline below it. Some exposed and unpleasant icy scrambling and we were soon on the ridge line, discussing our situation in the fading rays of the setting sun. It was high time to find a proper bivy spot."
