Pfeishütte at the upper end of Sämertal valley can be highly recommended as a base camp for many Karwendel summits and traverses via connecting ridges. On summer and autumn weekends the hut usually is crowded with Karwendel trail hikers, the peaks around the hut however are summited by only very few of them.
