Reflector Oven-- Strawberry Fields (5.9+/5.11a) [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Reflector Oven-- Strawberry Fields (5.9+/5.11a)
Strawberry Fields is the classic route at Reflector Oven and also one of the few multi-pitch routes (2 pitches) at Old Rag and, for that matter, anywhere in Virginia. The first pitch, which is 65' and 5.9+, follows the thin crack (hand crack) left of center up to the obvious ledge. The second pitch, which is 5.11a, then climbs 35' along a finger crack. There are bolted anchors at the end of each pitch, and many climbers only do the lower pitch.

This view is from a massive boulder outcrop near the base of Reflector Oven. Note the climber to the right of Strawberry Fields for scale.
