A view of the crag from the top of the Lower Ridge Trail Slabs, where the Ridge Trail breaks out of the forest to gain Old Rag's summit ridge and follow its very popular Class 3 course to the summit.

Some things to note:

1. The lone pine tree atop the crag. This is a good reference point for those trying to locate the crag, especially for first-timers; the actual hiking/bushwhacking access to the crag is just uphill from the top of the crag.

2. The approach follows the corridor seen to the left of the crag, between the crag. The eastern face of Old Rag is so full of walls, slabs, and outcrops that locating particular ones from below can be confusing, so this view certainly helps make a mental picture and map of the terrain.
