Next time...

.... You should take ice-axe and use both skis ;)

An ice axe wasn't really necessary, and he wasn't using his ski as one either. He was just adjusting it, cause he had popped out of the binding. :)

for a minute there,

the ski was more useful as an ice axe than as a ski. I guess I had to stomp so hard on the ski to get purchase on the crust, that my Dynafit heel piece slipped, rotated, and locked my heel down. If you know Dynafits, you know the only way out of that situation is to remove the ski. Next time, both skis, but with teeth!
