This open meadow in the subalpine forest of the Selway Crags is dominated by the yellow Tweedy's Ivesia, which is disjunct from the Cascade Mountains. The pinkish flower is a variety of coiled-beak lousewort that is endemic to the Selway Bitterrot region of northcentral Idaho. Photo from the ridge near Big Fog Mountain. July 2007 Comments |
