This is the largest pinnicle in the Whitney Pinnicle formations.

Thank you for the feedback Lcarreau. I managed to catch the pinnicles before, during and after sunrise...the light was excellent because there were some clouds over the Inyo Mountains that moderated the direct sunlight a bit making for some nice opportunities

I made it to the top Sept. 1993 at age 47. My partner who was 5 yrs. younger made it to the campground at 12,900 but could not move the next day. Tragedy--he passed away in a los Angeles restaurant from a peice of chicken a few years later in his early 50s.
