Voted 10/10 | Awesome Dean! And long live old slides indeed! I've been scanning many of my dad's old slides preparing for my mom's memorial service, and even his old Technicolor and Kodachrome stuff from the 1950s is very well preserved. -Bob | | Posted Apr 23, 2009 12:22 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I love seeing these older photos of mountaineers doing the same thing we do today but with less advanced gear. If anything I think it was much harder before synthetic layers, GPS technology and such. Thanks for sharing this shot with us.

Hasn't voted | We didn't think we were hurting for gear back then. Looking back, I can see the huge improvements such as harnesses rather than diaper slings made out of sling materials and nylon rope versus goldline etc. None of us wore helmets and that makes me cringe now. Yes, things have improved, for the better. Thanks Adam.. | | Posted Apr 25, 2009 6:07 pm |

Hasn't voted | Yes, I can't believe we didn't wear helmets at all in those days. I'd feel naked now but the improvements in gear and equipment has been phenomenal. Thanks Dan. | | Posted May 1, 2009 8:52 am |
