Temple Mountain Petroglyphs [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Temple Mountain Petroglyphs
Petroglyphs near Temple Mountain, San Rafael Swell, Utah. To find these from I70, go south on UT24 for about 25 miles until the Goblin Valley turn-off. Go about four miles to the Temple Mountain Junction. Go straight (west) for 0.9 mile. The petroglyphs are on the north side of the road near an obvious campsite. Unfortunately, these petroglyphs were vandalized by graffiti and bullet holes (I framed this photo to remove most vandalism). I just don't fundamentally understand people who would find something like this and then shoot at it--it's disgusting beyond words. Like John Prine said, "Some humans ain't human." April 2009.

They should fence these things off to save them. Unfortunately, we suffer from a lack of access to these wonders. All because these idiots destroy something that belongs to all.

Selfish.

Remarkable, the quality of these petroglyphs. Great job framing out the damage.
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers!

"The bizarre trend in mountaineers is not the risk they take, but the large degree to which they value life. They are not crazy because they don't dare, they're crazy because they do. These people tend to enjoy life to the fullest, laugh the hardest, travel the most, and work the least."   --Lisa Morgan
