"Tinaja Peak"-- Southeast Side [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
"Tinaja Peak"-- Southeast Side
This view is from the Calico Tanks Trail as I was heading out to climb nearby Red Cap.

Visible on the lower right side of the peak is the "slot" that makes the easy and obvious sandstone ramp on the east face a bad route to take. You can see where the ramp dead-ends against the slot.

The best route I found was to approach from the right side of the slot, using outcrops and ramps accessed from a brushy wash below the slot (these features are not visible in this picture). Class 3 and 4 moves will get you up. Eventually, you reach the brushy area partially visible on the right side of the peak, where there are at least three options, each having different assets and challenges, to reach the top.
