Along the road leading to Mount Constitution, a gate was closed and locked... approximately 3.7 miles from the summit. When checking with rangers in advance, I was told the gate would be opened early in the morning. However, I had to hike from this point, and I later discovered the gate was not opened until nearly noon that day.
