The rest of the story?

Arches NP (Utah) lies atop an underground salt bed that's basically
responsible for the arches, spires, balanced rocks, sandstone fins,
and eroded monoliths of this sightseer's mecca.

Other words, eye candy! And you better visit soon to beat the heat!

What? If you can stand the HEAT, then please STAY in the kitchen.

(Thousands of feet thick in places, this salt bed was deposited across the
Colorado Plateau 300 million years ago when a shallow sea flowed into the region and evaporated ...)

Before I evaporate, this photo was taken along the Devil's Garden Trail,
just to the north of Landscape Arch.

If you click on LARGE, you can define several people on the (opposing) rock to the left of the spire. God only knows what they were all doing there.

The vegetation is your typical "junipers" that frequent this area.
