Looking down on the upper...
Looking down on the upper South Ridge. We came up from the couloir on the left in the shade. Stefan is crossing what for me was the mental crux of the climb. It was harder on the way down: a steep slightly downhill snow traverse with absolutely no run out. It's funny how just a little bit of declination in the traverse angle can make it that much more intimidating. Something about having to step out and down to gain that next boot step.
