to see granite that looks like this very often! cool shot, looks like yosemite and zion had a baby and named it thunder canyon

Yes it is unusual, it is obvious as you go through the cave that when the water is flowing there can be huge flows. The fluting of the granite show where the swirls and whirlpools are during the heavy flows.
