Unnamed Tarn, Peak 8,924, Wallowas [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Unnamed Tarn, Peak 8,924, Wallowas
This small water body sits above tree line on a bench below east side of the 8,924 summit. It is not found on most maps and can be reached only by long cross country hiking. The shadow obscures it, but a cloud reflected on part of its surface at the lower left-center part of the photo marks the spot. This is the East Fork Eagle Creek canyon showing some of the remarkable Wallowa geology. Red Mountain is in the distance. August 2008
