Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone - Turbulent Waters [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone - Turbulent Waters
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone - Turbulent Waters

Twisting, turbulent Yellowstone River dropping below Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone; note the "rusting rocks". The rocks are oxidizing; in effect, the canyon is rusting. The colors indicate the presence or absence of water in the individual iron compounds.
