Ipasha Peak, Mount Merritt [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Ipasha Peak, Mount Merritt
Ipasha Peak, with Ahern Glacier (L), and Mount Merritt—with Old Sun Glacier working its way down from the summit—entering the frame at far right. The picture doesn't, of course, give any sense of scale, but Ipasha is 9572', Merritt is the lowest of GNP's six 10000+ foot peaks at 10004'; the snow field in the lower right quarter of the image is at 5525'. These mountains are big! The lake in the lower left corner is called Helen Lake (5085'), and Ahern Peak is barely out of the image on the left. Photo by Vernon, July 20, 2005.
