Sergio Verdina expressing his joy at climbing the 5.6 chimney in plastic boots. We graciously dropped our other rope to him. We gave Martin no such security...probably because he had pretty much already topped out once we got there. May 2, 2004.

Indeed, there was none. It was a total arm thrutchfest to get up it. I was looking up at it thinking it probably had lots of little edges, so was 4th class. Nope, not a single stinking edge for my plastics. Since we couldn't edge, we had to muscle it.
