Me at the summit of Argonaut... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Me at the summit of Argonaut...
Me at the summit of Argonaut Peak on May 2, 2004. Our entry into the register was the earliest of record but this does not mean the peak hasn't been climbed earlier when the register may be buried in snow. But here is a good question: has Argonaut seen a winter ascent? It wouldn't be difficult by our route up the NE Couloir ("Jason's Esophagus").

Incidentally, the the twosome that was ahead of us in the couloir did not follow us to summit despite my yelling down to them that it was all easy by the route we found. Oh well. Apparently, a party the day before had also been turned around. All it took for us was a little exploratory climbing to find the way (well, actually, it was Tod who scouted ahead for us).
