| North ridge of North Tent Peak. | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
A unique early season photo of North Tent Peak's north ridge. The peak was accessed from the north due to a mudslide blocking access to the road leading to the normal summertime trail head. June 19, 2009.

Voted 10/10 | That is a beautiful shot. I had to go over North Tent to get to South tent for a similar reason only in our case it was snow blocking the normal route. We accessed Skyline drive from Spring City and the Skyline was a muddy, scary road in spots. | | Posted Jun 20, 2009 11:28 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thank you Dean. I drove up early in the a.m. Friday morning, got up the road from Spring City to about 9,600 feet and slid in the mud within 6 inches from the edge of the road. Had it slid any further both myself and the truck would have rolled down the steep mountain side. After using the jack and a bunch of flat rocks I was able to get the truck backed safely on the road. I continued slowly on the road to 10,200 feet where the a land/mudslide had wiped out half the road. I parked there and headed up, adding about 8 miles round trip to the hike. It was worth it though, S. Tent is a great COHP summit! | | Posted Jun 21, 2009 12:45 am |

Voted 10/10 | That mud is something else and the reason I called it "scary in spots". I almost slid off Skyline on my visit. Fortunately for myself, the Spring City road was dry. That was a close call you had but I'm glad you were able to deal with it ok. | | Posted Jun 21, 2009 7:42 am |
