Haunting view of the Goodsir Towers & Glacier [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Haunting view of the Goodsir Towers & Glacier
I don't know why but this picture has always haunted me. I call it the "Mt. Doom" picture. I can almost picture Frodo and Sam climbing up the glacier to return the ring.

It is of a glacier on the ~2000m (6000ft) east face of the North Goodsir Tower taken from a helicopter. The South Tower 3,567m (11,703ft) is visible in the background left and the lower Middle Tower is in the center left. The contrast between the white glacier, blue sky with little puffy clouds and the dark black rock has always impressed me.
