If you go to the highlighted Timberline ski area link you might recognize the photo of the hotel is the one used in The Shining.

Yes, that is the Mount Hood ski resort. It is known for late spring and early summer skiing, because of the altitude. The upper chair system starts at 6,000 feet and goes up to 8,500 feet.

That is actually the Palmer lift of the Timberline Ski area. The summer skiing is from the left edge of the photo up to the top of the lift. The climber's route is to the right of the groomed ski area.
