Looking northwest up the wide open Slough Creek Valley toward Cutoff Mountain (Yellowstone NP). Despite being mid-July in Yellowstone, we didn't see a single other hiker on our outbound trip of 5 miles...and only ran into a couple small groups on the return trip. July 12, 2009.
