Looking down on the head of Proctor Creek from near Persis' summit on Sept. 19, 1999. My car is parked in that fish-shaped clearing at center (see map). Only 2,700 feet to drop but it took me 3 hours to do. It was the worst brush I ever had to fight through. Incidentally, the road is washed out where it crosses the creek just beyond the clearing.
