Acorns [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Acorns
I picked up acorns from two exotic species and grew them indoors for a season. Twenty years later this Sawtooth Oak Quercus Acutissima has acorns.
The other species was Q. Robur which started in 1982, It got as big as a Burr Oak that I picked up on the roadside. The Robur was slightly larger, but it up and died inexplicably. I did cultivate an indoor quercus agrifolia that I got from California-coastal live oak, but it was not cold hardy in Ohio, so it only lasted a couple of seasons.
