Ipasha Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Ipasha Peak
And some of the unclimbed peaks between it and Mount Merritt.

This view is from the goat trail near Ptarmigan Tunnel.

The "glacier" in view, though crevassed, does not meet the criteria for a true glacier because it does not meet all of the following: at least 100' thick, moving downhill, at least 25 acres. I am not sure which one(s) it fails to meet, but I am guessing it is the first and third.

The handiwork of the glaciers back in the Ice Age. Today's glaciers formed much later, but the big ones gouged the mountains here, and the park has peak after peak with faces like this.
