This photo was taken roughly 100 yards to the north of Bountiful Peak. The ridge and peak have an impressive east face. Most all of the rock strata making up the ridge and summit is the Farmington Canyon Complex. What makes the formation unique is it's age, over 2.5 billion years old. Voted 10/10 | Those clouds in the background were similar to what chased me off of Pk 8136 yesterday (near Lewis Pk). I had no rain gear but my main concern was if thunderbolts started to come out and play. | | Posted Sep 5, 2009 8:54 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks! I'd checked out the forecast last night for today and saw that the weather could be questionable. I'd planned to get an early start, to beat the weather and crowds on the road, but slept through the alarm. Fortunately there wasn't lightning involved, however the trucks and atv's were all over the place. Gotta love holiday weekends. It did rain lightly, which was refreshing after this last little dry spell we've had. | | Posted Sep 5, 2009 9:14 pm |
