Just between you & me, I didn't "doctor" this image in Photoshop. Whatcha see is whatcha get! This is an agave (or Century plant)(or broccoli-shaped looking thing) growing between two of the "Three Golden Chiefs." As the sun gets lower in the western sky, these sandstone towers glow with the life of the sun. As Clarence Dutton once said in the 1800's: "They are deep, rich and variegated, and so luminous are they, that light seems to glow or shine out of the rock than to be reflected from it." And ... as Vanessa Williams beautifully sang in "Pocahontas:" "Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind ???" August 27, 2009 Comments [ Post a Comment ]
