This pix was taken during a winter ascent of the Brenva Spur November 22-24, 1976. It is at the beginning of the seracs which lead to the summit slopes. The unusual tint (magenta) was a rare occurrence from time of day and atmosphere (cloud) filtration. Although scanned from a color negative it is very close in actual representation. Self timer photo of myself, Randy Janoski, shot from a clamp fixed to Dan Matheson's ice axe while we waited for Bill Menning to begin work on another serac wall. The upper portions of the Arete de la Brenva can be seen in background.
