| Wind of a Prism Ship? | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |||||||||||
Sometimes called Ship Rock or The Sail, a handful of rock climbers in the Sedona area are familiar with WHY this formation is called "The Accropolis." Consisting of multiple layers or "decks," this one is best climbed from the Wilson Canyon Trail beginning at Midgley Bridge along AZ Highway 179. As seen from the west, junipers grow in patterns beneath the formation's sheer (and most eye-catching) western perspective. (Zoom view of The Accropolis from the Teacup Trail) "The gardener plants an evergreen, Whilst trampling on a flower. I chase the wind of a prism ship, To taste the sweet and sour. The pattern juggler lifts his hand; The orchestra begin - As slowly turns the grinding wheel, In The Court of The Crimson King." (King Crimson - 1969) August 27, 2009 Comments [ Post a Comment ]
