What I meant was that the photo seemed completely lifeless, and there was something un-earthly, but beautiful about the colours and the whole setting. The two lakes might have been pools of methane on Triton or something like that! Most mountain photos are immediately recognizable as being from the earth.

I largely agree. However, when I have been on Triton recently, I found the atmosphere much more hazy, the light less clear and above all, no such sharp peak.

I agree with others who've mentioned another planet. My first reaction, before reading their comments, was, "Gee, I didn't know there was water and ice on the moon!" Nice capture with beautiful colors; thanks for sharing. --mark d.
