The Black Pine range [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
The Black Pine range
We had just slid our way down the road you see in the foreground, going into the ditches on the side and even turning sideways to the road as the clay offered no traction whatsoever to our 4WD efforts. In the background, Black Peak is the highest one on the left and Black Pine Peak is the highest on the right.

The storm was predicted on the weather news and it never ceases to amaze me how fast one can occur. One minute on the summit, we had clear skies but soon clouds started popping out and they grew quickly into thunderstorm proportions. We probably had less than two hours from the beginning of the clouds to the full fledged storm. The driving left a lot to be desired but I am glad we were heading down it, rather than up.
