Lost Arrow Tip [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Lost Arrow Tip
Nice exposure on the lower 2/3rds of P2 - the wall is largely dead vertical for 1000+ feet (?). Photo taken during the crux (C1+ or C2??) moves of the Lost Arrow Tip climb. Photo taken while hanging on the excitement-enhancing "bomber" C2 hook move (inset). Also in the photo - my nuts (tested to the limit on this climb, June 6, 2004).

Thanks for posting this incredible series of photos - best I've seen on Lost Arrow - my palms are sweating just looking at them all. How Shirley could smile so sweetly through all of this is pretty impressive too! As Craig would say - What a hottie! :-)

Bob,

Thank you very much for the nice remarks (will pass those on to my wife). I too have enjoyed your many posts on Yosemite and CA climbing in general (read up on your Snake Dike TR before our climb of it last summer). Your info. on the "less traveled" climbing routes is thorough and inspirational - stuff like this (which you cannot get out of a guidebook) is what makes SP so great!

Regards,

Radek

Bob,

I was checking out your web page (El Cap. TR) and came across this shot:

Have you posted it on SP somewhere? It would make (IMHO) a great addition to the LA Spire page as it shows it from a very unique vantage point? thanks.

Great shot looking down. Now you need to climb Lost Arrow from the base via the Lost Arrow Direct ( you can see the bivy ledges in your photo ), your looking down it - this was my first big wall !!!

Thanks Craig,

How many pitches up are those bivy ledges? Grade V with some challenging aid?......it'll be a while.....hopefully one day - would love to get a taste of a climb like that :)

That's too far away to be worthwhile me thinks. I like this photo much better. I just go to look at the great routes, I don't actually climb them. :-)

A tremendous, sweeping shot that gives us all an insight into this legendary arena.

A great achievement both technically and psychologically.

I also like the way the chocks and wires dangle above the abyss, denoting their relevance. Not like my nuts which have already drawn back up inside for their protection. (That's almost as painful as landing on them !!).

And so far I've only viewed up to page 28 of your 128. My so-called Broadband is so slow that I could just chuck my PC over the partition. (Thanks for the idea).
