Telephoto of Bell Rock from approximately 6 miles to the north.
You can see how the landform got its name.
After the ancestral Rocky Mountains were formed, the area which is now
Sedona rose as tidal flats from an ancient sea.
Sand was blown into the sea. As the sea receded, the accumulated layers
became the red-hued sandstone making up Bell Rock.

I'm not in a biker gang, so I guess "ftw" =

Voted 10/10 | No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee

The road is long, with many a winding turn -
That leads us to who knows where -
Who knows where ???

Hasn't voted | Thank you 'suddendescent.'
Migration seems a viable option. But, I'm not
telling people migration is an essential part
of the human spirit.
My family "migrated" over here from Europe,
and now I'm stuck in this snake-invested
land, a PRISONER of my own device.
I dream of Mount Robson and the Columbia
Icefield on many nights ... | | Posted Oct 12, 2009 1:41 pm |
