This photo was taken on the way up to the trail head area on the north side of the mountain. Mt. Hilgard is very prominent when viewed from the much lower Castle Valley area to the north east, mainly from those heading west on I-70. Hilgard reaches 11,533 into the sky. Photo taken October 11, 2009.
