Mount Lassen, Lassen Volcanic NP [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Mount Lassen, Lassen Volcanic NP
Mount Lassen is seen looking northeast from the near the summit of Brokeoff Mountain. Note the heavy flow of blocky lava that oozed from the crater after the most recent eruption back in the early 1900s. Brokeoff Mountain was part of a larger volcano that collapsed and eroded away over the millenia. The mountains in the foreground were also part of this volcano that was much larger than today's Mount Lassen.
