Just curious ...What's a good brand of cheese to carry in your backpack while
exploring Cheesebox Canyon ???
Do you recommend a "hard cheese" made from ewe milk, or a softer
cheese made here in the Americas ???

Re: Just curious ...Talking of cheese and beverages :), I remember times – namely 1970-80's in Poland – when you had to buy a piece of cheese if you felt like having a beer in a bar at the railway station (that was supposed to be an attempt to prevent the people drinking too much, in seriousness).

Re: Just curious ...really? and I would think that cheese would make you more thirsty and you would drink more... we had a beer flavored cheese in the Czech Republic.

Re: Just curious ...Well, you were allowed to buy something more expensive (if there was anything on the menu but beer and cheese) but you had to buy a snack to get a pint. Talking of stinking cheese:), one memorable type I've tried was a Czech product called "Krkonossky pivny syr" – as the name suggests (Beer Cheese from the Giant Mts, Larry) you just have to buy a pint to manage it! :D

Re: Just curious ...That's the problem! I don't know HOW to "manage" myself when it comes to cheese and whatever types of beverages they serve inside the establishment. : ))
I suppose I'd want my cheese to come with some type of Italian
pasta cooked in wine, so I can have the BEST of both worlds!

I never visited Annecy, but I remember tasting good cheese when I
visited Le Harve in 1976.
It was so fresh and delicious! (I'm talking about the cheese).
