Round has a satellite peak... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Round has a satellite peak...
Round has a satellite peak that is tidally locked to its NW ridge. This peak, Pk 5053, does not have an official name, but two of its unofficial ones are "Eye of the Round" and "Orbit Peak." John Roper recently suggested "Quae-hae-eths" to preserve the original indian name for Round Mountain. The beauty of a peak without an official name is you can call it whatever you want. It is a free country. The FBI won't come a knockin' if you do. Photo taken from the SE (from Pt. 4360+) on June 19, 2004.
