Once you reach the summit of...
Once you reach the summit of Medicine Bow Peak, continue heading toward the east to gain the remaining circular trail. It traverses the cliff edges as seen here and then gains a saddle which leads to switchbacks that lead to the lake valley below the granite faces. Photo was taken by Matt (SP - Mr P) on June 27, 2004. Note the ice axe on my back....you can leave that thing at home...that would be called "dead weight" on your back. That is if you are climbing in the summer. Winter time you might bring it along as well as bringing better boots and goretex items!
