We're going the first week of Sept. How was the trail from Elk Park? Is it being maintained or is there a lot of downfall?

The trail from Elk Park to the beaver ponds is on the Colorado Trail and is in great shape. However, the trail from the ponds up Vestal Creek to the camp sites is *not* maintained, making the pack-in a tough one. Lots of deadfall, and the trail is on loose dirt in a few spots. I think we spent around 2.5 hours to get to our campsite once we left the CO trail.
