Looking east... | [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ] |
June 15, 2004
Looking east at the 5671 m (18606 ft) Mt. Damavand from the slopes of Dizin. Unfortunately I could not take a decent picture of Damavand. By the time I reached the top, it was lost in the haze. On sunny winter days, the view of Damavand is fantastic.

Voted 10/10 | Looks Fuji like from this angle- less variation then Elbrus or Orizaba. | | Posted Jul 28, 2004 11:42 pm |

| mountainfire | Thank you for sharing. | | Voted 10/10 | There are very few good pictures of Damavand on this site. This one is great and has a perfect angel.

Hasn't voted | I have recently realized that the double summit to the right is the 3691 m Kaasoonak Peak. I wonder what the mountain immediately to the right of Damavand is, possibly Asbi Kaalak Peak (3820 m)? | | Posted May 31, 2005 9:28 am |

That mountain immediately to the right of Damavand is Asbi Kaalak Peak, which is also sometimes called Aseman Kooh. | | Posted Jul 3, 2005 2:38 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thank you for your note. During my recent trip, I saw Asbi Kaalak Peak from not too far away. It is a very impressive peak in its own right. It is funny how Damavand dwarfs everything around it. In this view, Asbi Kaalak appears as a foothill at the base of the great Damavand! | | Posted Jul 8, 2005 9:33 am |
