Nelson hikes toward Donner Ridge (July 31, 2004). The beginning of the ridge is in the photo, but the route we took led us up the valley to the left. To go to Spectacle Lakes you would veer to the right here. From Spectacle Lakes you could gain the ridge at the bottom. (See Donner Ridge route for more details.)
